Abstract

PURPOSE:To make a change in option setting so easily by selecting an ignition coil based on a cylinder timing signal and an ignition timing signal, and installing a director circuit, straddling each ignition timing, in an igniter. CONSTITUTION:During engine driving, an ignition timing signal IGt is outputted on the basis of an output signal out of a turning angle detecting sensor 1 at an electronic control unit 3. And, a cylinder timing signal IGr is outputted by logical operation of this ignition timing signal IGt and each output signal out of the turning angle detecting sensor 1 and a reference cylinder detecting sensor 2. And, on the basis of these timing signals IGt and IGr, current- energization control over an ignition coil 5 installed at each cylinder is performed by an igniter 4. In this case, a director circuit 20 is installed in this igniter 4, and any of ignition coils 5 is selected on the basis of the ignition timing signal IGt and the cylinder timing signal IGr, whereby the ignition timing signal IGt is made so as to be straddled.
