Abstract

PURPOSE:To properly extract the torque from an engin by properly controlling the ignition timing of the engine in accordance with the load thereupon and the knocking condition thereof. CONSTITUTION:An engine 1 sucks through an intake manifold the air-fuel mixture, which is prepared by a carburetor 2. An ignition plug is supplied with a high voltage from an ignition coil 4 through a distributor 5. A judging circuit 20 responds to the output signals of a vibration sensor 16 and the signals from an angular signal circuit 17 to judge whether or not the engine 1 is under its knocking condition so that the output signals are fed to an ignition angle presetting circuit 21. This presetting circuit 21 controls the angle of advance in accordance with the load upon and the knocking condition of the engine 1 thereby to most properly control the ignition timing of the engine 1.
