Abstract

CONSTITUTION:Standard and non-standard ignition timing memory means A, B memorizing the ignition timing adapted to standard and non-standard fuels and corresponding to the running condition of an engine are provided. Also, a means D for controllably correcting and setting a designation factor for indexing which of memory means A, B should be selected according to the presence of knocking generation detected by a knocking detecting means C is provided. And in an ignition timing designating means E the ignition timing corresponding to the running condition of an engine is referred to by one of memory means A, B and set from the ignition timing range sandwiched by these ignition timings on the base of the designation factor. The set ignition timing is corrected with a correction value of a correction value memory means G by a setting means F to provide final ignition timing.
