Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable displaying an excellent anticorrosive performance without a degrading magnetic characteristic, by treating a Fe-Nd-B sintered magnet with a 1-hydroxydenzotriazole compound. CONSTITUTION:An Fe-Nd-B sintered magnet is treated with an aqueous solution of a 1-hydroxybenzotriazole compound, which can provide the magnet with a corrosion prevention effect. The 1-hydroxybenzotriazole compound is a compound which is formulated by a chemical formula I in which X represents a hydrogen element, an alkyl group, a nitro group or a sulfonic group, and M represents a hydrogen, an alkali metal, an alkaline earth metal or an ammonium. And for the 1-hydroxybentriazole compound, the OM group thereof is reacted with a metal in a predetermined medium to produce a cyclic chelate compound, thereby a sufficient corrosion prevention effect is expected. As a result, the magnet can be provided with a high corrosion resistance, without degrading the magnetic characteristic of the magnet.
