CONSTITUTION:A pickling sonl. and/or a chemical washing soln. for stainless steel is prepared by mixing 0.5-20wt% nitric acid with 0.1-5wt% hydrofluoric acid. To this mixed soln. is added 0.05-20wt% diethylthiourea as the titled inhibitor. Stainless steel is immersed in the resulting soln. to remove the scale. At this time, the corrosion of the stainless steel is prevented by the effect of the diethylthiourea as a pickling inhibitor.
