Abstract
PURPOSE:To conduct pickling of stainless steel etc. efficiently so as to reduce the cost for pickling, by maintaining the concns. of Fe<3+> and F<-> contained in a nitric acid-hydrofluoric acid pickling fluid in the limit no FeF3 deposits while being used for pickling stainless steel etc., either by discharging suitably the pickling soln. or by ion exchange of the soln. when the concns. are increased to not lower than a set concns. CONSTITUTION:Quantity of Fe<3+> and total quantity of F<-> are monitored by the analyzer 5 of the pickling soln., which is contained in a nitric acid-hydrofluoric acid pickling tank 1, for pickling iron or steel material. When the concns. are in the ranges Fe<3+>>30g/l, F<->>60g/l, the pickling soln. contained in the tank 1 is introduced into a reservoir 2. Acids from a recovered acid tank 4 and a fresh acid tank 6, and water are added to the tank 1 to adjust the soln. contained in the tank 1 to a concn. suitable for pickling. The waste acid contained in the tank 2 is led to a diffusing and dialyzing tank 3, where HF and HNO3 are recovered with an ionexchange membrane. The recovered acid is transferred to the tank 4, and dialyzed soln. F contg. metallic ions such as Fe<3+> as a principal component to a waste acid treating unit. The recovered soln. contained in the tank 4 is analyzed to determine the concns. of HNO3 and HF and is prepared for being introduced to the pickling tank 1.
