Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain superior electric chargeability, durability, weather resistance, resistance to environmental pollution, and translucent by forming a charge transfer layer made of an amorphous solid containing C and H as constituent atom and incorporating a transition metal atom as a chemically modifying agent. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body comprises a charge generating layer and the charge transfer layer of the amorphous solid containing C and H as constituent atoms and as the chemically modifying agent the transition metal atom in an amount of at least 0.1-10atom.% of the total constituent atoms. The contents of C, H, and the transition metal atoms in the polymer film can be measured by the usual method of elementary analysis, such as organic analysis and Auger analysis, thus permitting superior chargeability, durability, weather resistance, resistance to environmental pollution, and translucent to be obtained.
