Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain superior electric chargeability, durability, weather resistance, resistance to environmental pollution, and translucent by forming a charge transfer layer of an amorphous hydrocarbon film and incorporating at least a specified amount of chalcogen atoms in said hydrocarbon as a chemically modifying agent. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive body comprises at least a charge generating layer and the charge transfer layer of the amorphous hydrocarbon film containing chalcogen atoms as the chemically modifying agent in an amount of at least 0.1-10atom.% of the total constituent atoms. The contents of C, H, and chalcogen atoms in the amorphous film can be measured by the usual elementary analytical methods, such as organic analysis and Auger analysis, thus permitting superior chargeability, durability, weather resistance, resistance to environmental pollution, and translucent to be obtained.
