Abstract
PURPOSE:To maintain a stable triboelectrostatic charge quantity and to speed up the rise of electrostatic charge by coating the surfaces of carrier core particles with a resin and fixing electrostatic charge control agent particles to the coating layer. CONSTITUTION:The intermediate coating layer is formed on the carrier core particles by coating the same with the resin. The electrostatic charge control agent is added to a carrier having the resulted intermediate coating layer and is fixed by, for example, heating, to the intermediate coating layer to form the coating layer on the surfaces of the carrier core. The carrier obtd. in such a manner has high electric resistance and partially adequate electrical conductivity and, therefore, the carrier has stable triboelectrostatic chargeability and the accumulation of electric charge is not generated even if the carrier is used for a long period of time. The stable electrostatic charge quantity is thus imparted to a toner.
