Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve hard-to-stretch property and low thermal conductivity and compensate for destruction of superconductivity by inserting electroconductive metal wires in long holes provided in each column consisting of an inorganic substance as material to superconductor, accommodating them in a protector tubing, and then performing stretching and heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:Powders of materials to ceramic superconductor (for ex., BaCO3, Y2O3, CuO) are put together and mixed well, followed by compression to provide a columnar provisionally formed body 1, and metal wires (for ex., Cu-Ni alloy wire) 3 are inserted in long holes 2. These are inserted in a protector tubing 4 (for ex., of stainless steel) and stretched through a die 5. A heat treatment is performed to turn it into superconductive ceramic.
