CONSTITUTION:Powders of materials to ceramic superconductor (for ex., BaCO3, Y2O3, CuO) are put together and mixed well, followed by compression to provide a columnar provisionally formed body 1, and metal wires (for ex., Cu-Ni alloy wire) 3 are inserted in long holes 2. These are inserted in a protector tubing 4 (for ex., of stainless steel) and stretched through a die 5. A heat treatment is performed to turn it into superconductive ceramic.
