Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve hard-to-stretch property and low thermal conductivity and compensate for destruction of superconductivity by accommodating a superconductor of ceramic type in a protector pipe made of metal, and embedding electroconductive metal wires therein. CONSTITUTION:Metal wires 1 fixed upright to a disc 2 are inserted in a protector pipe 3 made of metal. This protector pipe 3 is filled with powder of a superconductor material of ceramic type, followed by stretching process. Then a heat treatment is carried out to turn it into a superconductor. There is no restriction for the types of protector pipe 3 and wire 1, which shall however be made preferably of Cu or Cu-Ni (with Ni no more than 10%).
