Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain superior superconductivity and mechanical characteristics by preliminarily heat treating the surface of a wiry or tapelike Cu-V or Cu-Nb alloy at a prescribed temp. before heat diffusing Ga or Sn.
CONSTITUTION: A Cu-V or Cu-Nb alloy is worked into a wire or a tape, and this worked products is preliminarily heat-treated at 300W1,000°C in case of Cu-V and at 400W1,000°C in case of Cu-Nb. Ga or Sn is then stuck and diffused by heat treatment. Since a flat sectional shape formed by the working is changed into a round shape by the preliminary heat treatment, the diffusion of Ga or Sn is facilitated, and enhanced superconductivity and mechanical characteristics are obtd.
