Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a conductive high polymer material without coloring at a low cost by treating the conductive high polymer material, with its surface coated with a copper sulfide film, by means of gaseous iodine and converting at least part of the copper sulfide into copper iodide.
CONSTITUTION: A high polymer material with its surface coated with copper sulfide film by means of conventional technique and having electric conductivity is put into an atmosphere of gaseous iodine to convert at least part of the copper sulfide into copper iodide and to obtain a conductive high polymer material with less coloring. The gaseous iodine is obtained by sublimating solid iodine put in a closed vessel and has a saturated gaseous iodine concentration at room temperatures. The treatment temperature and time with the iodine gas are respectively in the ranges of room temperatures and from several to several tens of minutes. Since the iodine concentration is low and the treatment is made at relatively low temperatures and for a short time, effects of reducing cost and preventing deterioration of the high polymer material are remarkable.
