Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of varieties in the starting voltage of overvoltage protecting operation, by a method wherein the base of an overvoltage detecting transistor is connected to a voltage dividing circuit for monitoring overvoltage to supply only a base current. CONSTITUTION:A voltage Vcc for monitoring an overvoltage is divided by voltage dividing circuits 1, 2 while the dividing point of the circuits 1, 2 is connected to the base of a first transistor 8. A reference voltage generating element 6 is connected to the base of a second transistor 3 and the emittors of the first transistor 8 and the second transistor 3 are connected with each other. The potential of a resistor 4, connected to the collector of the second transistor 3, is impressed on the base of a third transistor 7, operated as a circuit interrupting element. According to this method, only the base current of a transistor is supplied from the voltage dividing circuit, therefore, the fluctuation of an operating point due to the variety of the element will never be generated.
