Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain an internally metal lined pipe having resistance to corrosion and wear by forming a uniform metal powder layer on the inside surface of a stock pipe while rotating the pipe, then heating the pipe to stick the metal powder layer as a sintered powder layer on the inside surface of the pipe and heating the pipe in a static state to the melting temp. of said powder or above. CONSTITUTION:The straight pipe 2 having the metal lining layer 7 which is highly resistant to corrosion and wear on the inside surface is produced by the following method: While the stock pipe 2 is kept rotated in such a manner that the centrifugal force on the inside surface thereof attains >=3G, the metal powder 5 is supplied (from 4) at one time or continuously so as to uniformly cover the entire circumference in the required range on the inside surface of the pipe 2 to form the metal powder layer; thereafter, the pipe 2 is heated 3 from the inside or outside surface or the inside and outside surfaces thereof up to the temp. at which the above-mentioned metal power layer exhibits the sintered state to stick this metal powder layer on the inside surface of the pipe 2 (to form the sintered powder layer 6), then the rotation is stopped.
