Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the titled alloy steel having high strength and high toughness by prepd. the steel contg. specific ratios of C, Si, Mn, Ni, Cr, Mo and Al and contg. the mixed phase of martensite and lower bainite as the fundamental structure. CONSTITUTION:The alloy steel contg., by weight, 0.02-0.15% C, <=0.35% Si, 0.1-0.4% Mn, 7.0-12.0% Ni, 0.2-2.0% Cr, 0.1-0.3% Mo, 0.01-0.035% Al and the balance iron with inevitable impurities and contg. the mixed phase of martensite and lower bainite as the fundamental structure is prepd. By this method, the alloy steel which has high strength and high toughness and can sufficiently be used as the member of cryogenic use even in thick steel forgings is obtd.
