Abstract
PURPOSE:To measure temperature over a wide temperature range with high accuracy by selecting two kinds of detectors which differ in measurement wavelength range according to the temperature of an object of temperature measurement. CONSTITUTION:Radiant energy from the object of temperature measurement which is not shown in a figure is split by a chopper 14 through a condenser 10 and incident on detectors 12 and 20. An emissivity setter 28 supplies an emissivity signal set according to the material of the object body to an input switch 22 and the radiant energy shown by energy signals SE1 and SE2 from the detectors 12 and 20 is divided by the emissivity and converted into radiant energy at the time of a black body. Then the signal SE1 or SE2 used suitably to measure the temperature of the object body is selected between black body energy signals SE1' and SE2' corresponding to the radiant energy according to the temperature. Then the selected signal is supplied to a temperature transducer 40 and converted into a temperature signal ST, so that the temperature is displayed on a display and recording device 42. Thus, the temperature is determined according to the signal SE1 or SE2 from the detector 12 or 20, so the temperature is measured over a wide range with high accuracy.
