Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve efficiency by controlling the openings of sub-flow regulating vanes on the small bore diameter part of the inlet flow passage of an impeller and main flow regulating vanes on the large bore diameter part on its upper course side with a defined relation between both vanes. CONSTITUTION:Sub-flow regulating vanes 3b are provided on the small bore diameter part of the inlet flow passage of an impeller 1 and main flow regulating vanes 3a are provided on a large bore diameter part on its upper course side. The adjusting mechanisms 7a, 7b of both vanes 3a, 3b are driven by actuators with a defined relation between both vanes to carry out opening control. In the case of a reduced-quantity operation, the main flow regulating vanes 3a are throttled at the time of a large flow rate zone whereas, the sub- flow regulating vanes 3b are throttled at the time of a small flow rate zone. Hence, a streamlining action can be effected at the time of a large flow rate while a pre-swirling action can be effected at the time of a small flow rate, improving efficiency as a whole.
