Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable to lower the driving force of a cross-flow fan and to simplify the structure of driving mechanism, by employing such an arrangement that the direction of air flow produced by the cross-flow fan is controlled by a guide vane disposed on the inside of the fan. CONSTITUTION:Providing that a cross-flow fan 2 is turned in the direction shown by an arrow C in the drawing under the state that a concave side 10 of a guide vane 4 faces a partition plate 7, low-pressure vortices D are produced between the partition plate 7 and the concave side 10 of the guide vane 4, so that an air flow shown by an arrow E is produced between the guide vane 4 and another partition plate 8 by the function of the low-pressure vortices D. That is, an air flow from a region A to a region B is produced. On the other hand, when the guide vane 4 is turned around a shaft 3 to a position where its concave side 10 faces the opposite partition 8, low-pressure vortices D' are produced by the fan 2 between the partition 8 and the concave side 10 of the guide vane 4, so that an air flow shown by an arrow E' is produced between the guide vane 4 and the partition 7. That is, an opposite air flow from the region B to region A is produced.
