Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a mechanism for changing the direction and velocity of ejected-air stream, by disposing a core displaced in the direction of ejected-air stream in relation with the change in the total pressure of air in an air duct arranged in a building at the central portion of an orifice formed at an outlet of the air duct. CONSTITUTION:An elongated orifice is formed at the central portion of a casing 1 by means of fixed plates 2, 2' and guides 3, 3', and a converging core member 4 having a V-shaped cross section is hung at the central portion of the orifice by use of springs 5, so that a symmetrical orifice is formed between the fixed plates 2, 2' and flaps 6, 6' formed on both sides of the core member 4. With such an arrangement, as the air pressure in the duct is changed from a low level to a high level, the core 4 is displaced from the position shown by the solid line in the drawing via the position of the one-dot chain line to that of the dotted line, successively. By the resultant change in the Coanda effect of the core member 4, the direction of air flow is also changed as shown by the solid line, one-dot chain line and dotted line sucessively in this order. With such a simple arrangement, it is enabled to change the velocity and direction of air flow from the nozzle.
