Abstract
PURPOSE:To change the air blowing direction automatically without the use of any mechanical means such as direction changing vanes or the like by a method wherein a pair of guide plates adapted to guide an air stream to spread like an unfolded fan are provided at air blowing nozzle sections, respectively, and tributary air stream inlet ports and tributary air stream joining ports are provided in the above mentioned guide plates, respectively. CONSTITUTION:An orifice 6 provided in the nozzle section 1 is chocked when the entire pressure of the blowing air becomes high. Thus, when the orifice 6 is in a choked condition, a strong eddy current generates in the vicinity of the tributary air stream joining port 5 whereupon an air jet which is accelerated by the choked orifice 6 gives rise to an air stream running close to the inner surface of the guide plate 2(2') due to a Coanda effect. For example, when such air stream generates on the inner surface of the guide plate 2, a part of the air stream enters a passage 3 through the tributary air stream inlet port 4 and is guided to the tributary air stream joining port 5 so that the negative pressure generating aroud the port 5 decreases. In this case, when the eddy current around the port 5 becomes weak in strength as compared with that around the like port 5', the like air stream running close to the inner surface of the guide plate 2' is produced so that the direction of the main air stream is changed. The above phenomenon takes place repeatedly and the air blowing direction is changed accordingly.
