Abstract

PURPOSE: To reduce the noise during the time of controlling air flow by a method wherein an air conditioning duct is divided into 2 and more passages along the direction of air flow and a single plate type damper is provided in each passage with each plate being pivoted in the reverse direction to each other to control air flow.
CONSTITUTION: A casing 10 is divided nearly at the center into passages 11 and 12 along the direction of air flow X by a partition plate 13 and the passage 11 and 12 are respectively provided with single plate type dampers 14 and 15. The single plate type dampers 14 and 15 consist of blades 14A and 15A with respective length enough to close the passage 11 and 12 and rotary shafts 14B and 15B and the single plate type dampers 14 and 15 are constructed so as to pivot in the contrary direction to each other. When the single plate type dampers 14 and 15 are pivoted to control air flow, two flos are flowed together in collision with each other and the confluent flow is brought into the state of turbulence by breaking the blown out portions of the two flows. As a result, the noise produced during the time of controlling air flow can be reduced.
