Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the machining accuracy of the lathe in the caption, at the time of delivering a work held by a first spindle by making the first spindle and a second spindle close to each other as far as a delivery movement distance which is longer by an excess than a distance between a work end face and the work holding means of the second spindle. CONSTITUTION:In the case of delivering a work 30, which is held by a first spindle 3a and on which predetermined maching is applied, a feed controller is commanded in such a way as to make the first spindle 3a and a second spindle a close to each other as far as a deliviery movement distance LS which is longer by an excess alpha than a distance between an end face 30e and the work contact face 5g of a work holding means 5b disposed in the secondary spindle 5a. And, either of the first and second spindle 3a, 5a is moved so as to be positioned closer to the other, and thereat, the detection of their abutment and stoppage releases the feed command so as to deliver the work 30 to the second spindle 5a side. After that, a tool 29 executes another predetermined machining on the work 30. Therefore, the delivered work can be machined with accuracy.
