Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain superior sliding characteristics and high strength, by providing a specific composition and also a structure in which the principal part of metal sulfide is uniformly dispersed in matrix crystalline grains. CONSTITUTION:A composition consisting of 0.3-2% C, 0.05-1% Mn, 0.05-1% S and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and further containing, if necessary, 0.01-10% of one or >=2 elements among Cu, Mo, Ni, Co, Cr, W, V, Vb, and B and also a structure in which almost the greater part of metal sulfide is uniformly dispersed in matrix crystalline grains are provided. By this method, an Fe-base sintered alloy excellent in sliding characteristics can be obtained.
