Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a charge controller by integrating a plurality of charging mode control loops by providing calculating means for setting a power supply current target value corresponding to a plurality of charging modes, and controlling a power supply current with the selected target value. CONSTITUTION:A circuit for constant-voltage-charging, constant-current-charging or charging a battery 4 in a desired charging mode of constant power supply output charging comprises a charging voltage setter 21, a charging current setter 23 and a power supply output setter 25. Current target value calculators 31-33 are respectively connected to the setters 21, 23, 25, and a current target value IG' corresponding to a selected charging mode is obtained by a switching circuit 34. An actual power supply current value IG is detected by a power supply current detector 12, and compared with the selected value IG', and a power supply 2 is controlled by the means 35 so that its deviation becomes zero.
