Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve liquid tightness with a strengthened sealant by using thermosetting crosslinked polypropylene as a sealant of an opening part of a metallic case. CONSTITUTION:Silane denatured polypropylene and crosslinkage accelerating masterbatch are mixed and molded, and after that it is made to have contact with water, to manufacture a sealant. The sealant is used as a sealant 3 at an opening of a metallic case 7 of a silver oxide battery, a sealant 10 at an opening of a metallic case 13 of a lithium primary battery, a sealant 17 of a metallic lid 14 of a metallic case 20 of a lithium secondary battery, etc. Polypropylene is thereby made to be thermosetting, and so even through thermal stress is applied for a long time under pressure, relaxation does not ossur so much. It is therefore possible to improve liquid tightness at a sealing part.
