Abstract

PURPOSE:To realize simplification of the assembly process of a lid body by making the outer diameter of a flat disc to be the same as that of a hat-like disc, and injecting and molding a sealing gasket over the peripheries of these discs. CONSTITUTION:A lid body, which has an internal-pressure sensitive hole 8 and an elastic body 7 such as rubber, is manufactured in order to use it for a sealed cylindrical storage battery. After a hat-like disc 5' having a convex 6 in its center is placed on an under mold 9, an electrolyte resistant elastic body 7 is placed in the convex 6, and a flat disc 4 is placed over the body 7 before the disc 4 is pressed with an upper mold 10. The outer diameter of the flat disc 4 is made to be approximately the same as that of the disc 5'. After that, a sealing gasket 3 made of nylon is injected on the peripheries of the discs 4 and 5' so as to make the discs 4 and 5' to be unified with the sealing gasket 3, thus a lid body is obtained.
