PURPOSE:To provide excellent wear resistance as well as high strength and high toughness to the titled alloy by specifying the contents of C, Cr, Mo, Si, Mn, Co, W and Ni in the Fe based cast alloy. CONSTITUTION:The compsn. of the Fe based cast alloy for a rocker arm is constituted of, by weight, 2-4% C, 10-25% Cr, 1-10% Mo, 0.1-2% Si, 0.1% Mn, 0.1-2% Co, 0.1-2% W, 0.1-3% Ni, furthermore at need of 0.001-0.01% La and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities. Said alloy is produced by prepg. the molten metal of the alloy in the use of a high-frequency melting furnace, etc., to cast into a rocker arm by a lost wax process and subjecting the alloy to a quenching and tempering treatment. Since said cast alloy has high strength and high toughness and shows excellent wear resistance in the state of low offensiveness against the mating members, the miniaturization and thinning of a rocker arm can be attained.
