Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent malfunction of a processing circuit or unstable servo system by supplying the result of conversion of an A/D converter to a microcomputer, and detecting a tracking sensor gain to control the gain control means. CONSTITUTION:A sum signal of two output signals of a sensor optical system detecting a signal to detect a track and focused spot positional deviation is used to normalize a difference signal, thereby obtaining a signal proportional to a position deviation between a guide slot and a light spot. The signal is digitized and supplied to a microcomputer 11 via a logic circuit 6 and the positional deviation detection sensitivity is calculated by utilizing the property of the signal that it is a periodical signal taking a pitch of the guide slot as its period. Since the gain of a means taking a difference is controlled by a gain control means 12 based on the result of calculation, even if a change in the position deviation detection sensitivity not neutralized even by the normalization takes place, the change in the position deviation detection sensitivity is neutralized.
