Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the detection of tracking abnormality from being erroneously detected by controlling the sensitivity of a tracking abnormality detecting means via a sensitivity changeover circuit based on an output of the abnormality detecting means. CONSTITUTION:A summational output of photoelectric transducers 1a and 1b by a summing amplifier 8 is monitored by an autotracking abnormality circuit 10, and when it is more than a prescribed value, it is decided as abnormality and an autotracking abnormality signal Sh for moving an optical head in the tracking direction is outputted from the circuit 10 to a system controller. The sensitivity of the circuit 10 is then changed over to a low sensitivity for a fixed period via the sensitivity changeover circuit 11 equipped also with a monostable multivibrator, to which a control signal Si from the system controller is inputted based on said signal Sh. By this method, detecting erroneously such a nonabnormal state due to increasing vibrations during the movement of the optical head is prevented, thus enabling the autotracking abnormality detection to be carried out with high accuracy.
