PURPOSE:To prevent the malfunction of a pulse light detecting circuit resulting from an outside disturbance light by lowering the DC bias voltage applied to an amplifier circuit when the integrated output of the detection pulse obtained by comparing the amplified output of a pulse light-receiving signal with a reference voltage is less than a given level. CONSTITUTION:The pulse light-receiving signal B outputted from a light-receiving part 3 which receives the reflected light of a pulse light P or the like is amplified in a class ''A'' amplifier circuit 4, whose output C is compared with a preset reference voltage in a comparator circuit 5 to obtain a light-detecting pulse D. When the integrated output F obtained by inputting said output to an integration circuit 7 is less than a given level, the DC bias voltage applied to the amplifier circuit 4 is lowered. For example, an output circuit 11 is operated by the object-detecting signal G obtained by comparing said integrated output F with a reference voltage in a comparator circuit 8, and a transistor Q1 in a bias voltage generating circuit 9 is turned OFF so that the bias voltage applied to the amplifier circuit 4 is raised.
