In general, the outer skin of a passenger car, which frames the lower part of the entrance and exit door and the arched part of the rear fender, is damaged by collisions with shoes and baggage caused by passengers frequently getting on and off the vehicle, as well as by flying stones while driving. It is also a place where rainwater from the ground tends to remain attached, and if the outer panel is made of steel plate, it is easy to cause rust due to oxidation.

As described above, according to the present invention, the rear fender panel of the metal frame body is integrally connected to the rear end of the side sill that runs vertically just below the entrance. In an automobile body, an inward flange is integrally connected to an inner peripheral edge of an arched portion surrounding a rear wheel house, and a front outer panel portion covering an outer surface of the side sill and a front side of the rear fender panel are provided. The lower outer panel, which covers the outer surface of the lower part and includes the rear outer panel part whose upper end extends above the side sill, is integrally molded with synthetic resin and is removably fixed to the skeleton body, so that the lower outer panel made of synthetic resin The board is used to prevent collisions with flying stones while driving, passengers' shoes when getting on and off,
It is resistant to scratches even from collisions with baggage, etc., and has excellent water repellency and does not rust even when water such as rainwater adheres to it, making it possible to protect the skin around the lower part of the entrance, which is easily damaged, over a long period of time. You can keep it beautiful over time. In addition, the coating protection effect of the lower outer panel can prevent rust from occurring due to damage to the painted surfaces of the side sills and the front lower part of the rear fender panel. In addition, if the lower outer panel is damaged, it can be easily replaced with a new one, which is convenient. Furthermore, the lower outer panel can be replaced with another lower outer panel of a different color. Changes can be made easily. Furthermore, since the front and rear outer panels of the lower outer panel are integrally molded, the number of attachment points to the frame body can be reduced, and the number of assembly steps can be reduced.

Further, a cover flange facing inward and facing the outer surface of the inward flange is integrally connected to the rear edge of the rear outer panel, so that the cover flange of the synthetic resin lower outer panel is connected to the rear end edge of the rear outer panel. Therefore, the inward flange of the arched portion of the rear fender panel is protected from flying stones, rainwater, etc., and rusting due to damage to the painted surface of the inward flange can be prevented. Since it can also contribute to increasing the rigidity of the rear edge of the rear skin part, the upper end of the rear skin part extends above the side sill, and the rear skin of the lower skin made of synthetic resin. can be reinforced extremely effectively.

Furthermore, since an elastic belt-shaped sealing material is adhered to either of the opposing surfaces of the flanges to seal between the opposing surfaces, the cover flange has larger manufacturing tolerances than a metal plate. Even if the synthetic resin plate undergoes large dimensional deformation due to temperature changes, the distance between the metal plate and the inward flange
can be effectively sealed at all times by the elastically deformable sealing material, thus preventing rainwater and foreign matter from entering between the synthetic resin lower outer panel and the rear fender panel through the gap. can be effectively prevented. Furthermore, if the sealing material is adhered in advance to one of the facing surfaces of both flanges, it can be automatically set in a fixed position between both flanges at the same time as the lower skin is attached to the skeleton body. Therefore, even if the space between the two flanges is located in a position that is relatively difficult to access, the work of setting the sealing material is extremely easy.

Furthermore, on the inner edge of the cover flange,
Since the bent end portion is formed to be bent toward the inward flange, the presence of the bent end portion not only effectively reinforces the synthetic resin cover flange itself, but also strengthens both the flanges. Since the opening in the gap can be shielded by the bent end, it is more effective in preventing rainwater and foreign matter from entering the gap.
