本発明は自動車、特に金属製骨格ボデイの、乗
降口直下を縦走するサイドシルが中空閉断面構造
を有する形式の、自動車の車体に関するものであ

により一体に成形し、これを骨格ボデイに連結具
を介して着脱可能に結合すると共に、前部外板部
分の下端縁をサイドシルの下端縁よりも下方に延
出させて、傷付きにくく、錆びにくく、しかも傷
付いたときは簡単に取換えることができ、さらに
骨格ボデイへの取付が簡単な前記下部外板を備え
た、自動車の車体を提供することを目的とするも
のである
以下、図面により本発明の一実施例について説

るサイドシルが中空閉断面構造を有する、自動車
の車体において、前記サイドシルの外側面を覆う
前部外板部分と、リヤフエンダの前方下部を構成
する後部外板部分とよりなる下部外板を合成樹脂
により一体に成形し、この下部外板を前記骨格ボ
デイにクリツプ等の連結具を介して着脱可能に結
合したので、前記合成樹脂製下部外板は自動車走
行時の飛石の衝突や、乗員の乗降時の靴、手荷物
等の衝接によつても傷が付きにくく、かつ撥水性
に優れ雨水等の水の付着によつても錆を発生する
ことがなく、傷付き易い乗降口下方周辺の外板を
長期に亘つて美麗に保つことができる。しかも骨
格ボデイの強度メンバの1つである中空閉断面の
サイドシル自身の剛性は、前記合成樹脂製下部外
板の特設によつても何等低下する惧れはなく、む
しろ該下部外板の被覆保護作用によつて、サイド
シル塗装面の傷損による発錆を未然に防止できる
から、そのサイドシル自身の強度および耐久性向
上に大いに寄与し得る。また前記合成樹脂製下部
外板が傷付いた場合には、新品と簡単に取り換え
ることができて便利であり、さらに下部外板は、
色の異なる他の下部外板と交換することによつ
て、色の変更を容易に行うことができる。さらに
前記下部外板は前、後部外板部分を一体に成形し
たことにより、骨格ボデイへの取付個所を少なく
することができ、組付け工数の削減を図ることが
