Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate a short circuiting accident which arises heretofore in the transistor part of a TFT and to eliminate the need for the formation of a photolithographic stage and insulating film by forming a light shielding film of color filters for three primary colors superposed in the state of three-layered lamination so that said film is converted to an insulating film. CONSTITUTION:Transparent electrodes 2a and the color filter 4 are provided on one glass substrate 1a. The filters of R and G are laminated on the surface of the color filter 4 when the primary color in said position is, for example, B to form the light shielding film 7. The position where the light shielding film 7 is provided corresponds to the TR part 5 of the TFT provided on the other glass substrate 1b. The light shielding film 7 is, therefore, constituted of the lamination of the three primary colors of light; R, G, and B, by which the light is thoroughly absorbed and the effect of the thorough light shielding is obtd. The insulating type light shielding film consisting of gelatin or the like in place of a conductive film consisting of a metallic member is thus obtd. and the need for the insulating film, etc., is eliminated.

TECHNICAL FIELD The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display element, and more specifically, a part of a drive circuit is added to the liquid crystal display element using a TFT.
By incorporating a transistor formation method using R"J film technology called an array, more complex and high-speed driving is possible, and the liquid crystal display device can be used as a display part of a color television, for example. [Prior Art] The structure of a conventional color liquid crystal display element incorporating a camphor TFT is as shown in FIG. The transparent electrode 2a is provided with a suitable material such as tin, and furthermore, a color filter 4 is divided and numbered into RGB using a gelatin film dyeing method or a printing method so as to cover the transparent electrode 2a, and furthermore, a color filter 4 is provided so as to cover the entire surface of the transparent electrode 2a. An alignment film 3a is provided on the other glass substrate 1b.A wiring circuit network and a driving transistor 5 are formed in a matrix shape using i#Il!3 technology such as silicon (TFT). = thin film transistor), and the transparent electrode 2b which becomes a pixel is placed at a position corresponding to the RGB of the color filter 4 provided on the one glass substrate 1a.
A light-shielding film made of a metal material such as molybdenum or chromium is provided to cover the transistor 5 and the transparent electrode 2b with an insulating film 16 to prevent the transistor 5 from malfunctioning due to external light. 17 was provided to cover the transistor 5, an alignment film 3b was further provided to cover all of them, and the liquid crystal 8 was sealed. In addition, R and G are attached to the color filter 4 portion in the figure. The symbol B represents the three primary colors of light, and corresponds to R = red, G = nibble, and B = nibble, respectively. [Problems to be Solved by the Invention] However, in the conventional method described above, since the light shielding film is formed of a metal member, accidents such as a short circuit between the drain and source of the transistor often occur. Moreover, in the manufacturing process, since the light shielding film is a metal member, it is necessary to provide an insulating film between the light shielding film and the TFT, or to perform a photolithography process. This also caused the problem of increasing costs. Means for Solving Problem K] The present invention provides, as a specific means for solving the above-mentioned conventional problems, a pair of glass substrates facing each other, each provided with a transparent electrode and an alignment film, and the glass substrates facing each other. A TFT (thin film) consists of a three-color (three primary color) color filter provided on either side of the screen, a wiring section, and a transistor section.
In a TFT-embedded color liquid crystal display element comprising a transistor array and a light-shielding film covering the transistor portion of the TFT array, the light-shielding film is a portion of one color of the color filter provided on one of the glass substrates. A TFT-embedded color liquid crystal display element, characterized in that the TFT-embedded color liquid crystal display element is formed so as to cover a transistor portion of the TFT array provided on the other one of the glass substrates, as a superposition of two other colors on the glass substrate. The light-shielding film, the color filter, and the TFT array are provided overlappingly on one of the same glass substrates, and the color is provided at a position corresponding to a transistor portion of the TFT array provided on the glass substrate. The above-mentioned conventional problems are solved by providing a TFT-embedded color liquid crystal display element characterized in that the light-shielding film is formed by laminating two different colors of filters. . K Embodiment Next, the present invention will be described in detail based on an embodiment shown in the drawings. In order to facilitate understanding, parts that are the same as those in the conventional example will be described with the same reference numerals, and descriptions of some overlapping parts will be omitted. In FIG. 1, reference numeral 1a indicates one glass substrate similar to the conventional example, and similarly transparent electrodes 2a are also provided, and color filters 4 are also provided, but the surface of the color filter 40 is If the primary color at that position is, for example, B (blue), then R (red) is created using the same method for the other three primary colors.
, and G (green) filters are provided in a stacked manner to form the light shielding film 7. At this time, the setting of the light shielding film 7 is performed.

[Needless to say, the position to be pulled corresponds to the transistor section 5 of the TFT provided on the other glass substrate 1b. According to the present invention, by forming the light shielding film 7 as described above, the light shielding film 7 has 81 layers of the three primary colors of R, G, and B light, so it completely absorbs light and is completely Not only can a light shielding effect be obtained, but also an insulating material such as gelatin can be used instead of a conductive metal member as in the conventional example, making it possible to eliminate the insulating coating required in the conventional example. 2 shows another embodiment according to the present invention, in which the color filter 4 and the light shielding film 7 are replaced with the TFT instead of the insulating film provided in the conventional example.
This is provided on the side of the glass substrate 1b provided with the. At this time as well, the color filter 4
For example, if the primary color at that position is B (blue), the other three primary colors can be colored R (red) in the same way,
and G (green) filters are provided in a stacked manner to form the light shielding film 7. By doing so, the light shielding film 7 can be brought even closer to the transistor section 5 of the TFT, and the light shielding effect can be further enhanced. Naturally, the insulating film of the conventional example can also be omitted. Is possible. Effects of the Invention As explained in detail above, the present invention replaces the conventional conductive light-shielding film made of metal members with a three-layer stack of color filters of three primary colors. This type of TFT-embedded color liquid crystal eliminates short-circuit accidents that occur in the transistor part of TFTs, and also eliminates the need for photolithography processes and insulating coatings that were required for the metal parts. This has the effect of improving the reliability of display elements and reducing costs.
