Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a bed material for cell culture having high cell agglutination property, by using a polymethionine as the surface material. CONSTITUTION:A polymethionine (D-isomer or racemic compound having a molecular weight to enable the formation of a film) is dissolved e.g. in trichloroethylene, and the solution is cast on a glass plate, etc., and dried in air to form a coating film. The film is extracted with a Soxlet extractor and dried to obtain a sheet. As an alternative method, the solution is applied to the surface of other material formed to a desired shape and dried by removing the solvent to obtain the object bed material for cell culture.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION (a) Technical Field of the Invention: Used for measuring proliferation by attaching a large amount. In general, animal cells do not grow in suspension, but only grow when attached to solid surfaces. Therefore, in order to culture such cells, a solid material, that is, a bed material, to which a large amount of cells can adhere is required.

(b) Description of the prior art Conventionally, cell culture bedding materials have been made using synthetic polymer materials such as polystyrene and polymethacrylate.
Cells do not easily adhere to flooring materials for cell culture using these materials.

(d) Structure of the Invention The present inventor has discovered that the cell culture flooring material of the present invention is a material having properties to which cells easily adhere, i.e., the cell culture flooring material of the present invention.
It can be obtained by molding into a desired shape such as a fiber, bead, or hollow fiber, or by molding into a desired shape using another material in advance and then applying the polymethionine of the present invention to the surface thereof.
