CONSTITUTION:Electric current is passed to a high frequency coil 5 and a molten metal 2 is built up atop a vessel 1 contg. internally the metal 2. A metallic material 6 is passed right above the delivery part 4 of the vessel 1 on which the metal 2 is built-up. The metal 2 is melt stuck and solidified on one surface of a metallic material 6. The light-gage billet having a required thickness is thus obtd. efficiently and continuously.

(Industrial Application Field) The present invention relates to a method for continuously manufacturing thin slabs. (Prior art and its problems) At present, two methods are known: (1) continuous casting method and (2) dip forming method as methods for continuously solidifying molten metal. The above continuous casting method is widely used for steel,
Although it was possible to omit the blooming process compared to the conventional ingot-forming method, it has not yet reached the point where the hot rolling process can be omitted when the final product is a thin steel plate. On the other hand, the above-mentioned dip forming method makes it easier to obtain slabs with dimensions close to those of the final product compared to the continuous casting method. This method has not been put into practical use for several reasons, including the fact that it has an upper limit that can be determined by the sensible heat of the immersed material. (Object of the Invention) The present invention has been made in view of the above-mentioned problems, and aims to provide a method for producing a thin slab that is practical and efficient. (Structure of the Invention) The present invention uses electromagnetic force to heap up molten metal in a container from the top surface of the container, and melts and solidifies it to a required thickness on one side of a metal material that is moved directly above the container. This is a method for manufacturing thin cast slabs. (Example) The present invention will be described in detail below based on an example shown in the accompanying drawings. In the drawing, (1) is a molten metal container C (hereinafter simply referred to as "container") in which molten metal (2) is stored, and the container (1) is, for example, a pouring section (3) for molten metal (2). A high-frequency coil (5) is formed in a U-shape in which the bottom part communicates with the sending-out part (4), and the upper part of the sending-out part (4) is equipped with a high-frequency coil (5 ) is installed. (6) is a metal material that is moved directly above the delivery section (4) of the container (1), guided by rolls (7) (7) placed before and after the delivery section (4). When the metal material (61&-) passes directly above the delivery part (4) of the container (1), a second
As shown in Figure (b), the molten metal (2) raised from the upper surface of the delivery part (4) fuses and solidifies, and by controlling the moving speed of the metal material f6), the desired thickness is achieved. This makes it possible to continuously produce thin cast slabs. Note that (8) in the figure is a cooling box for absorbing the thermal radiation of the Fi slab. For example, a water-cooled steel box whose surface has been blackened so that the thermal emissivity is close to 1 is used.
Ru. (9) is a ladle into which the molten metal (2) is poured via the pouring part (3) [sliding nozzle α] of the container (1); In order to ease the reaction on the molten metal surface due to the application of electric current and facilitate the operation, it is placed in the communication part 02) of the container (1) and is connected to the molten metal (2) in the direction shown by the IC arrow in Figure 1. An electromagnetic pump that generates thrust, but is not necessarily essential. In the above embodiment, the container (1) used in the method of the present invention has one delivery part (4), but in order to manufacture thick slabs or to improve productivity, As shown in Fig.
Of course, it is also possible to provide the above-mentioned structure and repeat the fusion and cooling to the metal material (6). In addition, the above metal materials

The material [6] is not limited to the same material as the molten metal (2), and may be optionally changed such as using a different material when manufacturing the clad steel plate. (Specific Example) A thin slab was manufactured by applying the method of the present invention to carbon steel under the following conditions. Target steel 0.08% 0 Arunkilled steel molten metal (2+ heating degree: approx. 40℃ Metal material (6) Width 0.9 m, thickness 1 m, initial temperature 1
Carbon steel high frequency coil (5) made of the same material as the 00℃ molten metal (2): 3 KHz with 1 turn water-cooled plate
s 10 rooOA energized electromagnetic pump (u): Maximum thrust 200mFe metal material (
6) Moving speed: 0.2 m/sea Container (1): Example shown in Fig. 1 As a result of carrying out the method of the present invention under the above conditions, the molten metal (2) was piled up from the upper surface of the delivery section (4). The rising height was about 50 cm, and a slab with a thickness of 5 cm was stably obtained. Note that the production amount at this time was 20 tons/hr. (Effects of the Invention) As described above, according to the present invention, thin slabs can be manufactured with high productivity, and the hot rolling process can be omitted, and other effects are extremely large.
