Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 (産業上の利用分野) 本発明シま熱風加熱手段と加圧冷却手段とを組合わせた
包材のヒートシール装置に関する。
(従来技術) 熱可塑性樹脂フィルム単体、或いはフィルム、紙などと
熱可塑性樹脂層の複合体からなる包材の熱接合方法とし
て、ヒートシール法は最もよく利用されている。
一般に電熱、高温蒸気などを熱源とした加熱板をヒート
シール部に接触加圧し、熱可塑性樹脂層を加熱溶融の上
、圧着せしめ、その後加圧を解除し、自然冷却して凝固
させる。場合によっては強制冷却することもある。
ここで十分な冷却前に外力が加わるとシール不良が起る
ことがある。かような外力として次のケースをあげるこ
とが出来る。
(1) ビロータイプの包装の場合、横方向にヒートシ
ールし底を形成した直後、充填する。
被包装物の荷重がヒートシール部を押し開く方向に作用
する。
(2)容器の場合、充填し蓋板をヒートシールするが、
次工程に送られる途中ヒートシール部にコンベアその他
の機械的振動が伝わってシール面が局部的にはがれる。
(3) ホット充填容器の場合、内部にとじ込められた
空気が高温液体(被包装物)により加熱され膨張し、蓋
板に内圧として働く。
その他包装物の移動中、各種外力が加わるケースがある
。いずれも樹脂のホットタック性によりシール不良から
まぬがれるように管理されるのであるが、樹脂の選定、
加熱温度、加圧解除の時機、ヒートシール部の樹脂量、
及び上記の各種外力に対する配慮などの制約を受ける。
又従来のヒートシール法では上記の如(ヒートシールの
信頼性に今−歩欠けるところがあり、例えばホット充填
などのように長期間保存を商品価値とする商品にとって
は、ヒートシール不良は重欠点ともなる。
(発明の目的) 本発明の目的は従来のヒートシールの上記欠点を解消し
、信頼性の高いヒートシール装置を提供するものである
(発明の構成) 本発明の装置は熱風でヒートシール部分を加熱し、該部
分の樹脂がヒートシールに十分な程度に溶融した直後圧
着し、同時に強制冷却を可能とし、加熱と加圧冷却とが
迅速に行なえるように、それら機能をコンパクトに一体
化したものである。
本発明の装置は、ヒートシール面に向カ・うよう配置さ
れた熱風吹き出し口と、上記手段により加熱されたヒー
トシール面を圧着する加工へラドと、該加圧ヘッドの少
くとも片方に内蔵された加圧ヘッド面の冷却手段と、こ
れら手段を一体に組み込んでなるものである。
(実施例) 111図、牙2図は本発明の一実施例の説明図である。
容器の胴部20の上端縁の内外面に蓋板21をヒートシ
ールするケースであり、111図はヒートシール部の加
圧・冷却時の状態を、】・2図は熱風による加熱時の状
態を示す(図はあくまでも説明図としてであり、ヒート
シール部分も各部材の形状及びそれらの関係がわかり易
(・ように図示した。以下の図についても同様である。
)。工程の手順は牙2図(加熱工程)、次いでj・1図
(加圧・冷却工程)となる。
第1図において、本発明のヒートシール装置lの主たる
構成は、加圧ヘッド2、該加圧ヘッド2とともにヒート
シール部を挟着する抑圧片3(これも実質的に加圧ヘッ
ドである。)、加圧ヘッド2に内蔵された冷却管4、及
び熱風吹き出し口5とからなる。加圧ヘッド2はロッド
12を通じて上部支持体に連結されている。抑圧片3に
は腕90反対側にコロ10があり、該コロがコーン体1
1の傾斜面に活って回転し、該コーン体を上下させるこ
とにより、ヒートシール面を抑圧又は開放することが出
来る機構となっている。図はバネ等が省略されている。
このような加圧手段は他の各種方法を採用することが出
来る。冷却管4には一般に水を通すが、その池の冷媒を
流してもよい。熱風吹き出し口5ば、この場合、加圧ヘ
ッド2の内側に組み込まれている。熱風室6内に電熱線
7が入っており、ダクト8から送り込まれた空気が加熱
される。
熱源は蒸気でも加熱された液体でもよい。又ダクト8を
通じて外部から熱風を送り込む方法をとることも出来る
。13は排気口である。熱風吹き出し口の先が止まって
いる場合の熱風の逃げ口である。ダクトの先の図示は省
略した。
212図は本発明のヒートシール装置1と、容器のヒー
トシール部、つまり容器の胴部20に蓋板21がかぶせ
られた状態でのヒートシール部とが上下方向に幾分離れ
ており、熱風吹き出し口5から吹き出した熱風がヒート
シール部を直撃する形をとる(矢印でその状況を示す。
)。
図において、蓋板21がアルミ箔にポリエチレンラミネ
ートされたものの場合は、熱の伝達がよいので胴部20
の外周側も十分熱せられるが、熱伝達の悪い材料の場合
、熱風吹き出し口を増やしたり、あるいはヒートシール
の位置をかえたりする必要がある。図では熱風は室内へ
放散されるが、場合によっては熱風回収ダクトを本発明
のヒートシール装置の外周に設ける必要がある。
図において、抑圧片3は開いた状態にある。
ヒートシール部の加熱が終れば即座にヒートシール装置
が下降するか、又は容器が上昇して、加圧冷却の状態(
2・1図)になり圧着が完了する。かかる加熱、加圧は
秒単位で行われるので、かかる手段が一体に組み込まれ
た構成は重要な意味をもってくる。
熱風吹き出しは加圧冷却時(2・1図の状態)では中断
した方が好ましい。従って送風ダクトの切替、ヒーター
のON 10FI”、或いは熱風吹き出し口5を開閉可
能にする等の処置が採られる。
勿論その場合熱風は排気ダクトを通じて回収される。
】・3〜5図は本発明の他の実施例の原理図である。具
体的な形状はツ・1.2図に準じて構成することが出来
る。
2・3図は容器の胴部20の両端を重ね合わせ筒状にす
る場合のヒートシール装置である。図(イ)はヒートシ
ール部に熱風を吹き付は加熱している状況を示す。加圧
ヘッド2.2 冷却管4、熱風吹き出し口5、とからな
る。図(ロ)はヒートシール部の加熱が完了し、加圧ヘ
ッド2.2′により該ヒートシール部が圧着され加圧冷
却されている状況を示すものである。
】・4〜5図はビロータイプの包装における本発明のヒ
ートシール装置の使用例を示す。いずレモ筒状フィルム
22の横方向をヒートシールし袋状とする。図(イ)に
おいて熱風吹き出し口5から熱風が筒状フィルム22の
ヒートシール部((向けて吹きつげられる。加圧ヘッド
2.2は開放されている。4は冷却管である。図(ロ)
罠おいて加圧ヘッド2.2が閉じ加圧される。仮付は工
程である。図(ハ)は加圧が開放され、再び熱風による
加熱が行われる。図に)において加圧冷却が行われる。
図(ロ)の仮付けは筒状フィルム22に形状のくせをつ
けるものである。特にアルミ箔との複合相の場合など仮
伺けによりヒートシール部の密着性が向上しヒートシー
ル部の信頼性がアップする。
又熱風吹き出し口5が片側のみの場合ヒートシール部の
他の側のフィルムの熱溶融を完全にすることが出来る。
該仮付は工程は省略することも出来る。 汽 なお、熱風吹き出し口5は筒状フィルム22の両側にと
りつけることも出来る。
之・5図は片方の加圧ヘッド2の中間部に熱風吹き出し
口5が挿入されている点で牙4図と異なる。
(発明の効果) 本発明のヒートシール装置は従来の加圧と加熱を兼ねた
ヘッダーを熱風による加熱と加圧・冷却ヘッダーに置き
換えたもので、ヒートシール部が迅速かつ必要十分に冷
却され、十分圧着されて後はじめて圧力が解除される。
従ってヒートシール強度が十分量ており、その後の外力
によってシール不良となることはない。長期間保存を必
要とする食品用容器などの場合、このヒートシール部分
の信頼度の向上は、被包装物の長期間品質保証につなが
るものである。
又熱風装置と加圧・冷却装置とを一体に、連動するよう
にしたため、加熱後、直ちに加圧と同時に冷却を行うこ
とが出来る。ヒートシール速度があがり、生産性も向上
する。
」−記の如く、ヒートシールの信頼度が高まるため、熱
可塑性樹脂層を不必要に厚くラミネート加工する必要が
なくなる。ラミネート層は単にヒートシール部分のみな
らず色相全体に同一厚さにしなければならないので、薄
く出来る経済的効果はきわめて高い。
熱風を熱可塑性樹脂層の加熱源とする効果は次の通り大
き(・o4−iに温度コントロールが迅速に行える。1
・2に熱風の量のON −OFFも容易である。熱風排
気(或いは循環)ダクトを設けたり、熱風吹き出し口を
開閉することによりコントロール出来る。
さらにヒートシールの不良を防ぐため従来行なっていた
操業管理が不要となり、工程の完全自動化にも結びつ〈
発明である。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 1、 ヒートシール面に向かうよう配置された熱風吹き
    出し口と、上記手段により加熱されたヒートシール面を
    圧着する加圧ヘッドと、該加圧ヘッドの少くとも片方に
    内蔵された加圧ヘッド面の冷却手段と、これら手段を一
    体に組み込んでなることを特徴とする包材のヒートシー
    ル装置。
