Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 〔産業上の利用分野〕 この発明は、金属帯材と合成樹脂フィルムとの誘導加熱
融着方法に関するものである。
〔従来の技術およびその問題点〕
従来、金属帯材と合成樹脂フィルムとの貼合わせ法とし
ては、押出し法あるいはフィルム貼合わせ法などが知ら
れているが、その何れの方法にも高温融着に伴なう樹脂
の酸化が生じたり、また金属帯材に対する両面同時融着
が不可能であるなどの問題点があった。
例えば押出し法にて積層品を作る場合は、樹脂の溶融温
度が非常に高いため樹脂か酸化されてしまい、熱接着力
の低下、酸化臭の大きいことが欠陥である。
また、フィルム貼合わせ法は、接着剤を用いずに加熱ロ
ールで熱融着する方法であるが、この方法では一般に強
い貼合せ強度を得る為には予備加熱と後加熱を要する。
このため、予備加熱にて金属帯材を加熱してからフィル
ムを熱圧着し、さらに後加熱を施こすのであるが、この
後加熱工程において樹脂の酸化が起り、押出し法におけ
ると同様、熱接着力の低下、酸化臭が残るなどの問題が
あった。才だ、後加熱ゾーンが非常に長いので生産性が
低いという問題もあった。
そこで、この発明は、金属帯材と合成樹脂フィルムの貼
合わせ法における上記の問題点を解消し、しかも金属帯
材の両面に合成樹脂フィルムを同時に貼合わす方法を提
供しようとするものである。
〔問題点を解決するための手段〕
この発明、金属帯材と合成樹脂フィルム□を重ね合わせ
た後、この金属帯材と合成樹脂フィルムとを電磁誘導コ
イル内□を通過させて金属帯材面に対して磁束を垂直方
向に透過せしめ、金属帯材内に発生する渦電流によって
金属帯材を加熱し、その熱によって合成樹脂フィルムを
金属帯材に連続的に融着させるようにしたものである。
〔作 用〕
上記のように、加熱源として誘導加熱装置を用いること
により、加熱が金属帯材内部から起って合成樹脂フィル
ムと金属帯材の界面で樹脂が溶融し、合成樹脂フィルム
が金属帯材に融着するのである。
この場合、金鴨帯材と合成樹脂フィルムとを、電磁誘導
コイル門を通過させることにより、金属帯材の両面に電
磁誘導コイルが位置して磁束が金属帯材面に対して垂直
の方向に透過するので、渦電流が金属帯材の全中に亘っ
て流れ、金属帯材が均一に加熱されるのである。
〔実施例〕
゛ 以下、この発明の実施例を添付図面に基づいて説明
する。
Aは金属帯材、Bは合成樹脂フィルムであり、その両者
は相互の融着を完全にするために貼合面をコロナ処理装
置5,5および6の通過によってコロナ処理し、圧着ロ
ール2によって合成樹脂フィルム−金属帯材−合成樹脂
フィルムを積層させる。
次いで、積層品Cを誘導加熱装置1に送り、電磁誘導コ
イル10内を通過せしめる。即ち、誘導コイル10が積
層品Cの両面に配置された状態で積層品Cを通過させる
のである。これにより、磁束が金属帯材A面に対して垂
直の方向に透過され、渦電流が金属帯材の全中に亘って
流れる。従って、電磁誘導コイル10内を約0.1〜1
.0秒間通過させることにより、金属帯1−JAが12
0〜170℃に加熱され、合成樹脂フィルムBと金属帯
IJAとの界面で合成樹脂フィルムBが溶融し、合成樹
脂フィルムBが金属帯IAに融着する。
このようにして金属帯材Aの両面に合成樹脂フィルムB
が熱融着された積層品は、冷却室3に送られ、冷却空気
によって合成樹脂の融点以下に冷却された後、冷却ドラ
ム4、冷却ロール8に導かれてさらに冷却され、その後
に巻取ロール9に巻取られる。。
上記誘導加熱装置1としては、誘導コイル10が金属帯
材の両面側に位置する形のものであれはよいが、金属帯
IAの中方向の均一処理をより有効にならしめるために
、不出願人においてすでに出願中のものを用いることが
望ましい。
上記金属帯IAとしては、アルミニウム又はアルミニウ
ム合金、銅、スチールなとの板状、或し1は箔が用いら
れ、熱融着合成樹脂フィルムBとしてはポリエチレン、
ポリプロピレン、ポリ塩化ビニル、ポリ塩化ビニリデン
、エチレン−酢酸ビニル共重合物、ポリエステル、ナイ
ロンなどカイ適当である。この合成樹脂フィルムは、積
層品の使用目的、金属帯材Aの種類に応じて適宜組合わ
される。
また、金属帯iAおよび合成樹脂フィルムBに対するコ
ロナ処理は、両者の熱融着をより向上させるためのもの
であり、図面では両者ともこの処理を施すものについて
示したが、必ずしもこれに限定されるものではな(、例
えば金属帯材Aとして軟質アルミニウム箔を用いる場合
などはこの処理を施こさずとも十分に合成樹脂フィルム
Bとの熱触着性は得られるのである。
従って、この処理も使用する金属帯IAおよび合成樹脂
フィルムBの組合せに応じて適宜実施すれは良い。
上記実施例においては、金属帯IAに対し合成樹脂フィ
ルムBを両面同時融着することについて詳述したが、こ
の発明の方法itこれに限らす片面融着にも適用しうろ
ことはいうまでもない。また、この発明の方法は、従来
のフィルム貼合わせ法における予備加熱で金属帯材の片
面に合成樹脂フィルムを圧着したものに対する後加熱に
代えて採用することも出来る。
この発明の方法で得られる積Feb製品はアルミニウム
容器、およびその蓋材、ケーブルシース用、各種食品包
装用など広い用途に対して非常に有用である。
次に、この発明の方法を史に詳細に説明するために、具
体的な実施例を示す。なおこの実施例は何ら不発明を限
定するものではない。
実施例1 軟質アルミニウム箔(50μX500mm幅)と、前処
理として軟質アルミニウム箔との融着面にコロナ処理を
施こした低密度ポリエチレンフィルム(30μX510
111II1幅)とを、圧着ロールを通過させて積層し
たのち、これを60m/分の速度で発振出力230kW
(245,0VX93.9A)、発振周波数1.8に七
の誘導加熱装置内をアルミニウム箔の温度160℃にて
通過せしめてアルミニウム箔に樹脂フィルムを融着させ
、その後冷却室にて冷却空気を吹きつけ、積層した樹脂
表面温度を110℃附近まで下げたのち、冷却ドラム、
冷却ロールを通し、アルミニウム箔片面にポリエチレン
フィルムラ融着せる積層製品を得た。
この積層品には樹脂の酸化県は殆んとなく、ポリエチレ
ンフィルムとアルミニウム箔との剥離強度は420!i
’/15馴幅〔剥離速度200mm/mm、T−剥離〕
を示し、同じアルミニウム箔と低密度ポリエチレンフィ
ルムによる従来の押出し法にて得た積層品の剥離強度3
00〜320グ/15+nm 幅に比し大きな性能の向
上が認められた。
実施例2 両面をコロナ放電処理した軟質アルミニウム箔(200
μX600++ll+1幅)と、同様にしてアルミニウ
ム箔との貼合面をコロナ放電処理したエチレン−酢酸ビ
ニル共重合体のフィルムとを圧着ロールニて積層したの
ち、これを45m/分の速度で発振出力91.0KW(
442,3VX205.8A)、発振周波数1,2KH
zの誘導加熱装置内をアルミニウム箔の温度160℃に
て通過せしめてアルミニウム箔の両面にフィルムを融着
させ、次いで冷却室内で冷却空気により積層した樹脂フ
ィルムの表面温度を140℃まで冷却したのち、冷却ド
ラム、冷却ロールを経てアルミニウム箔の両面にエチレ
ン−酢酸ビニル共重合体フィルムを融着せる積層製品を
得た。
このもののフィルムとアルミニウム箔の剥離強度は45
0〜5005’/15mm幅(剥離速度200mm/i
n、T−剥離)であった。
〔効 果〕
以上のように、この発明の熱融着方法は、従来のように
積層した合成樹脂フィルム上から加熱して、合成樹脂フ
ィルムを金属帯材に融着する方法に比べ、誘導加熱装置
において加熱が金属帯材内部から起って合成樹脂フィル
ムと金属帯Hの界面で樹脂が溶融し、合成樹脂フィルム
が金属帯材に融着するというものであるから、以下に列
挙するような効果を奏する。
■ 加熱が金属帯絹門部からおこるから加熱温度が12
0〜170℃と低く、樹脂の酸化が極度に減少されるた
め得られた積層品の同種樹脂への熱融着強度が第1表に
示す如く一段と向上すること、 ■ ■と同じ理由から樹脂の酸化臭が著しく減少するこ
と。
■ 従来法では不可能であった金属帯材への合成樹脂フ
ィルムの両面同時熱融着積層品が得られること。
■ 誘導加熱装置によって金属帯材か瞬時に目的の温度
に達するので加熱ゾーンが非常に短いからこの発明の方
法を実施する融着設備のスペースが少(て良いこと。
■ 誘導加熱法であるので熱効率が良いこと。
■ 金属帯材と合成樹脂フィルムとを、電磁誘導コイル
内を通過させることにより、金属帯材の両面に電磁誘導
コイルが位置して磁束が金属帯材面に対して垂直の方向
に透過するので、渦電流が金属帯材の全中に亘って流れ
、金属帯材を均一に加熱しやすい。

Claims (1)

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. 金属帯材と合成樹脂フィルムを重ね合わせた後、この金
    属帯材と合成樹脂フィルムとを電磁誘導コイル内を通過
    させて、金属帯材面に対して磁束を垂直方向に透過せし
    め、金属帯材内に発生する渦電流によって金属帯材を加
    熱し、その熱によって合成樹脂フィルムを金属帯材に連
    続的に融着させることを特徴とする金属帯材と合成樹脂
    フィルムとの誘導加熱融着方法。
