Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明はパネルの背面エフ元金導入して、前面Ｃててそ
の透過光全認識する、即ち透過型の液晶表示装＠ｖｃ関
する。
最近の液晶表示装置術の発展は、その小型低度カの特徴
？生かして、毀々な透帝件のＮ報装置の進歩に寄与して
きた。その最たるものはポケットテレビの出現でうって
、従来家Ｍ内でしか得られなかった高度の画像１゛ｌし
、場所。時間的な制限をなしに得られるＬうになった。
更に製品技術の発達ハ、フルカラーの実現も可能にしつ
つちる。
詔１図はフルカラー、り画像ディスプレイ装置２を搭載
したポケットテレビ１でちろ。ａ　＆　７）フルカラー
化には通常Ｒ，Ｇ、Ｂからなるカラーフィルタ全利用す
る。従って、このカラーフィルタ’に光が通過する時に
光重が約１／３　　［低下して暗くなるので質の工い画
像を得ようとすると、第１南のヌａぐランプ光源５と導
光拡散板４を用−ハて下面から元金照射させることが必
要となる。このような透過型液晶パネルｆては必ず背面
光源が必さとなるが、例えばこのよりなポケット機器で
は、１つには背面光源に安する１１４費電力が大きく電
池の消耗が激しぐ、２つには外光の照・度が明るい所で
に見にくくなるとｈ５欠点を有している。
従って本発明の目的はこのｒつな欠点を改善することに
なる。具俸的には表示パネル部のみ本体から切り離すこ
とに工９、環境照明が暗ｔハ所では自身の内部光源を、
環境照明が明るい所では、外光を利用することにある。
第２図は本発明の一例を示すポケットテレビの構成であ
る。テレビ本体２４から表示パネル部２１は取り外しが
できるようになっている。本体と表示部はコネクタ２３
とケーブル２２により電気的に接続されて、表示部に駆
動４ｆｆ号會転送する。
第３図は表示パネル部３７を実際に切り離して透明な衝
立５６ｖｃ何らかの手段にエリ保持させて人間の目３８
により画像を見ている所を示す。本体５１から表示部は
ケーブル３５で結ばれている。
この時帆９なことに、外光を利用しているにもかかわら
ず、円部の背面光面がＯＮ］７ていると、電池の消耗を
防ぐことＶＣになら々い。従ってこの防ＩＦのために、
表示パネル部６７が本体３１Ｊ：り切り離された時、接
点メＸツチ３５と５４が自動的離れバックライト光源３
２の駆動回路３２全自動的に停止させる。この結果表示
パネル部が不揮」：す、外された時内部の光源は自動的
に停止され、従って電池の消耗を防いでぐれる。
本発明にμ！上述べｆ？：ように１表示パネル部全本坏
から取り外して自由ｒて外光に、Ｌｎ画像分楽しめるこ
とにしたことにエリ、明るい照明下でも表示部分が暗く
なって児ｔｒ（（ぐ々ることがなぐ°２ると共に、明る
い所でと自動的に内部照明が不必安となるので、電池の
寿命を大幅して沖ばすことがでへる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. （１）　　透過型の液晶表示装置及び重犯液晶表示装置
    全背面より照明する円都立源を有する機器において、前
    記液晶表示装置−μ、前記機器本体より取り外し可能な
    構造であって、前記液晶表示装置が、前記本体エク取９
    外され之ことを自動的に検して前記円部光源の動作を停
    止させる装置を有することを待機とする液晶表示装置。
