Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 この発明は、たとえば液体ないし流動性食品を〜充てん
するための箱形容器に、アルミ箔裏面を有する紙製キャ
ップをヒートシールする方法と、この方法を実施する装
置に関する。
一般に、この種の容器のシール方法としては、その上端
部を屋根形に折り曲けて接着することにより、その開口
部の密閉が行なわれている。
こうした方法によると、流通時などに容器を積み重ねる
ことができず、不便である。そこで、容器の開口部を水
平断面四角形の切口のままにしておき、その開口部を容
器とは別のキャップを用いて密閉することが考えられる
が、従来、四角形の開口部のキャップシールは、その円
形のものと異なり、その隅部から内容物の漏れが生じ易
く、容易でないとされている。とくに内容物が比較的大
容量の容器では、信頼性のおけるシール構造が要求され
る。
この発明は、上述の問題点を解消することのできるシー
ル方法および装置を提供することを目的としてなされた
もので、その1つは、上面が開口された箱形容器に、ア
ルミ箔裏面を有し、周縁部に横断面略逆V形のシール用
嵌合部が形成されたキャップを、そのシール用嵌合部が
容器開口縁部を両側から挾むように嵌合し、高周波コイ
ルを用いてシール用嵌合部のアルミ箔を誘導加熱し、か
つそのシール用嵌合部をその内外側周面から押圧してヒ
ートシールをする方法の発明であり、もう1つは、この
方法の発明の実施に直接使用する装置の発明であって、
この装置は、シール用昇降ヘッドを備え、この昇降ヘッ
ドの下面に、外周面がキャップの周縁部に形成された横
断面略逆v形のシール用嵌合部の内周面にそわされる形
状に形成された固定抑圧部材か取付けられるとともに、
内周面が上記シール用嵌合部の外周面にそわされる形状
に形成された可動抑圧部材が、固定抑圧部材に対して接
近、離隔するように水平方向に移動自在に設けられ、さ
らに、シール用昇降ヘッドには、キャップの外形と略相
似形で、これがゆるく挿通される大きさに形成された高
周波コイルが固定抑圧部材の周囲に取付けられているも
のである。
この発明によれば、容器開口周縁部に、これを両側から
挾むように嵌合された横断面略逆V形のシール用嵌合部
を、その内外側周面から押圧することにより、ヒートシ
ールをしているから、シール面が広(、シかも容器開口
周縁部の内外両面がシールをされるから、丈夫で信頼性
のおけるシール構造の箱形容器が得られる。また、シー
ル用加熱のために、高周波コイルを用いているから、他
の加熱手段たとえば加熱ヒータに比べて、迅速かつ容易
にヒートシールを行うことができる。
以下、この発明の実施例について図面を参照して説明す
る。
第1図は、容器11+およびキャップ(2)の嵌合前の
状態を示す。また、第2図に、これらを嵌合した後に、
シール後の状態が実線で、シール前の状態が鎖線で示さ
れている。容器(1)は、熱可塑性樹脂がコーティング
された紙製で、上端部が開口された水平断面正方形の箱
形である。その底部は、図示しないが折込まれることに
より閉鎖されている。キャップ(2)は、裏面(2a)
にアルミ箔が貼付けられた紙でできており、四隅に切欠
きが設けられた台紙を、その周縁部にそって裏面を対向
状に折り曲げることにより、周縁部に上方突出状横断面
略逆v形のシール用嵌合部(21) )か形成されてい
る。このような容器(1)およびキャップ(2)は、別
途備えられた装置(図示略〕によって、そのシール用嵌
合部(21))が容器(1)の開口縁部を両側から挾む
ように嵌合される。
第3図は、シール装置の取イ(1状態を示す。また、第
4図から第7図に、その断面構造が示されている。シー
ル装置は、容器搬送用コンベア+Qの」1方に配備され
ている。このコンベア(C1に設けられた容器ホルダ1
−11によって、容器(1)およびキャップ(2)が上
述のように嵌合された状態で装置直下の所定位置に図中
矢印CA)の方向に運び込まれてくる。
ソール装置は、主要に、スライド昇降用エアシリンダ(
3)と、このエアシリンダ(3)のロッド(3a)に連
結されたスライド(4)と、スライド(4)に弾性状態
に保持されたシール用昇降ヘッド(5)と、この昇降ヘ
ッド(5)の下面に設けられた固定および可動押圧部材
(61+7+並びに加熱用高周波コイル(8)と、スラ
イド(3)および昇降ヘッド(5)の上下動を案内し、
かつ昇降ヘッド(5)を下限位置に停止させるための案
内棒(9)と、可動押圧部材(7)の作動用レバー(1
0)および連結リンク(11)とから構成されている。
スライド昇降用エアシリンダ(3]は、フレーム(F)
にあけられた取付孔を塞ぐようにはめ込まれた装置取付
用円形基板(12)上に、支持部材(13) (14)
を介して垂直下向きに支持されている。スライド(4)
は、」二端部が基板(121の中央部を挿通してエアシ
リンダ(3)のロッド(3a)に連結された昇降棒(4
A)と、この昇降棒(4A)が中央部を挿通され、その
外周面に形成されたフランジ(41)」二にボルト締め
された昇降板(4B)とからなる。昇降板(4B)には
、その下面の昇降棒(4A )の両側に、垂直対向壁(
4’l+が突出状に形成されている。これらの対向壁(
42)は、連結リンク(11)の一端を挾んで、これを
水平ピン(15)で回転自在に支持している(第5図参
照〕。昇降棒(4(43)に、摺動棒(171が摺動自
在にはめ合わされている。摺動棒(17)は、その直径
かそれぞれ段部(17a) (171りをつけて、上方
より3段階の大中小に形成されている。その大径部が上
記ガイド孔(43)にはめ込まれている。また昇降棒(
4A)の外周面には、フランジ(41)の下方におねし
く44)が形成されている。このおねしく441 +之
、円環状摺動棒保持ナツト(18)と、さらにこのナツ
ト(18)の下方からもう1つの摺動棒保持ナラ) f
19)とかねしはめられている。このナツトf191の
下部開口端には、摺動棒(17)が挿通されて、上記段
部(17a)に下方から引用る内向き突出部(19a)
が形成されている。この突出部(191)により、摺動
棒(17)がガイド孔(43)から脱落することが防止
される。
シール用昇降ヘッド(5]は、白傘摺動棒(17)の下
端部の前記小径部にその段部(17)+)に係ゴーされ
て固定されている。摺動棒(17)の下端部は、昇降ヘ
ッド(5)の中央部を貫通した嵌合孔(51)を挿通し
て、その下方に突出している。この下端部に、昇降ヘッ
ド(5)と一体に固定押圧部材(6)が固定されている
。嵌合孔(51)の周囲には、複数の案内搾取f」孔(
52)が設けられている。この取付孔(52)に下端部
が固定された案内棒(9)は、昇降ヘッド(5)から、
これと昇降板(4A)との間に圧縮状態に設けられた圧
縮コイルばね(20)を挿通して垂直に立ち上がり、中
間部で昇降板(4B)にはめ込まれたブツシュ(44)
を挿通し、さらに上端部が円形基板[2+に取付けられ
た摺動部材(21)を挿通して、その上方に突出してい
る。この突出部に、ストッパ(2りが固定されている。
さらに、昇降ヘッド(5)には、両側部にレバー取付用
突出部(53)がそれぞれ形成されている(第6図参照
)。こ−れらの突出部(53)に、これを両側から挾む
ように、可動押圧部材作動用レバー(10)が水平ピン
のによって回動自在に支持されている。レバーI−(1
01の両端部は、前記連結リンク(11)の他端と、可
動押圧部材(7)とに、それぞれ水平ピン(2a (2
5+で連結されている。また、昇降ヘッド(5)と可動
抑圧部材(7)とは、このレバー(101の他に、これ
と平行に設けられた支持用リンク(28)によって連結
されている。これにより、可動抑圧部材(7)の水平姿
勢が保たれ、かつこの姿勢を保持して水平面内を移動す
ることができる。
固定抑圧部材(6)は、第6図に示すように、平面から
見て、その外周面が正方形に形成されている。この外周
面は、容器(1)とキャップ(2)が嵌合された状態で
、キャップ(2)のシール用嵌合部(2b)の内周面と
ほぼ同形状でそこにゆるく挿通し得る形状である。
可動押圧部材(7)は、第7図に示すように、固定押圧
部材(6)の両側で対をなし、その対角線方向(図中矢
印(Blで示す)に、互いに接近・離隔するように設け
られている。なお、この方向は、上述した容器搬送方向
(矢印(A+ )に対して45度交差している。これら
の抑圧部材(7)は、互い合体することにより、その内
周面が固定押圧部材(7)の外周面にほぼ合致する正方
形になる。この内周面は、キャップ(2)のシール用嵌
合部(2N))の外周面にそわされる。また、この内周
面の高さ方向中央部に形成された断面U形の溝(71)
に、これにそって弾性材(26)がはめ込まれている。
可動押圧部材(7)が互いに接近したときには、この弾
性材(26)が固定押圧部材(6)の外周面を押圧する
高周波コイル(8)は、容器開口周縁部の形状すなわち
キャップ(2)のレール用嵌合部(2L+)ト略相似形
で、これがゆるく挿通される大きさに、上下2段に巻回
されて形成されたものである(第6図参照〕。この高周
波コイル(8)は、固定抑圧部材(6)の周囲に位置し
、ブラケット□□□によって昇降ヘッド(5)の下面に
固定されていて、固定抑圧部材(6)との間に一定の間
隔か保たれ、かつ可動押圧部材(7)が互いに接近した
ときに、その弾性材(26)の上下に位置する。なお、
可動押圧部材の内周面には、弾性材取付Fj (71)
の下方にコイル逃がし溝(、、72)が形成されている
さて、容器(1)とキャップ(2)とが嵌合された状態
で、上述の所定位置に送り込まれてくると、エアシリン
ダ(3)が作動してそのロッド(3a)が突出し、スラ
イド(4)とともに、これに弾性的に支持された状態で
昇降ヘッド(5)が下降する。
昇降ヘッド(5)は、案内棒(9)にしたがって下降し
、やがてストッパ(221によって下限位置に停止され
る。この状態で、固定押圧部材(6)がキャップ(2)
のシール用嵌合部(2b)の内周面にはめ合わされてい
る(第4図に示す状態)。
この状態から、さらにロッド(3a)が突出すると、ス
ライド(4)かばね(20)を[E縮し、かっ摺動棒(
17)をガイド孔(43)内に退入さぜることにより下
降して、昇降ヘッド(5)に対して相対的に接近する。
そうすると、スライド(4)に連結された連結リンク(
11)が作動レバー(10)の一端を外方に押し拡げる
ことにより、このレバー(10)か水平ピン031を支
点として回転して、両側の可動押圧部材(7)を−1T
に接近する方向に移動させる。これにより、キャップ(
2)のシール用嵌合部(2b )が、その内周面がわに
固定抑圧部材(6)がはめ込まれた状態で、その外周面
に可動押圧部材(7)の弾性材(26)が押イ;]けら
れ、内外両面から押圧される。このようにして、シール
用Is合部(2b)が押圧されることに先立ち、高周波
コイル(8)に通電してアルミ箔を誘導加熱しておくこ
とにより、シール用嵌合部(21) )が容器開口縁部
の両面にヒートシールされる。

    【特許請求の範囲】
  1. (1)  上面が開口された箱形容器(1)に、アルミ
    箔裏面(2a〕を有し、周縁部に横断面略逆V形のシー
    ル用嵌合部(2b〕が形成された紙製キャップ(2)を
    、そのシール用11シ)合部(21) )が容器開口縁
    部を両側から挾むように嵌合し、高周波コイル(8)を
    用いてシール用嵌合部(2b)のアルミ箔を誘導加熱し
    、かつそのシール用嵌合部(211)をその内外両hd
