Description

【発明の詳細な説明】 本発明は４サイクルエンジンのバルブシステムに関する
ものである。
従来の４サイクルエンジンは吸気と排気のバルブが独立
していたためどうしても１気筒につき２本以上のバルブ
が必用となり、そのため１本当りのバルブ面積が十分に
とれず、理想的な吸排気の効率が得られない、と言う欠
点があつた。
本発明はその欠点をなくすためなされたものでその構造
を図面について説明すれば。
燃焼室に従来と同じ型の大径バルブ（１）１本を設け、
これを吸排気兼用とする。
次に■合気及び排気ガスの通路に２次バルブ（２）、（
３）、を設け、これで吸気と排気の区別をする。
本発明は以上のような構造であるから、燃焼室と言う限
られた空間に２本以上のバルブをとりつけなければなら
ない従来の方法と比べて、より広いバルブ面積が得られ
、吸排気の効率は格段と良くなる。
又、吸排気効率の向上がどれ程そのエンジンの性能に関
わつて来るかは、現在のスポーツタイプの自動車、オー
トバイのエンジンが広いバルブ面積を求めて２バルブか
ら４バルブへと進んでいる事を見ても明らかである。
次にこのエンジンの作動を図について説明すると。
（１）、吸気、大径バルブ（１）が開き、ピストン（４
）が下り始めるとシリンダー内の圧力が下り吸気用２次
バルブ（２）が開いて吸気が行なわれる （２）、圧縮、ピストン（４）が下死点を通過して、上
昇を始めるとバルブ（１）が閉じて圧縮が行なわれる。
（３）、爆発、ピストン（４）が上死点に達つした時圧
縮された■合気に点火され爆発が起こる。
（４）、排気、爆発によりピストン（４）が下降し、下
死点を通過した時バルブ（１）が開き、ピストンが排気
ガス（６）を抻し出そうとする力によつて排気用２次バ
ルブ（３）が開き、排気が行なわれる。
なお本説明中の２次バルブは、燃焼室のバルブと異り、
絶対的な気密性を要求されるものではないので、現在２
サイクルエンジンで使われている、リードバルブ、ロー
タリーデイスクバルブ、など色々なタイプのバルブが考
えられるが本説明ではリードバルブを簡略化して書く物
とする。

  1. 【特許請求の範囲】 燃焼室のバルブを吸排気兼用の１本だけとし、その後方
    の通路に吸気と排気を区別するための２次バルブを設け
    る。 以上のような構造のバルブシステムをもつた４サイクル
    エンジン。
