Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain an Al alloy material with superior wear resistance by using an Al alloy contg. a specified percentage each of Si, Cu, Mg, Ni, etc. and by partially aggregating and condensing proeutectic Si crystallized during cooling the alloy.
CONSTITUTION: An Al alloy consisting of, by wt., 18W25% Si, 0.5W4.0% Cu, 0.5W2.0% Mg, 1.0W2.5% Ni and the balance Al with ≤0.5% Zn, ≤0.5% Fe and ≤0.5% Mn as impurity elements is used, and proeutectic Si crystallized during cooling the alloy is partially aggregated and condensed. To the alloy may be added ≤ about 1.0% Ti or further added ≤10% in total of one or ≥2 kinds among graphite, MoS2 and WS2 as solid lubricants and Al2O3, ZrO2, MgO, SiO, Y2O3, SiC, WC, B4C, TiC, Si3N4, BN, TiN, AlN, ZrB2, Ni2B, NbB and AlB2 as wear-resistant materials.
