Abstract
PURPOSE: To prepare an allyl-type chloride, easily, in high yield, even at room temp., by reacting a phosphoric acid ester such as geranyl diphenyl phosphate with lithium chloride.
CONSTITUTION: The allyl-type chloride of formula II is prepared by reacting a phosphoric acid ester of formulaI(R1 is H or hydrocarbon group; R2 and R3 are H or lower alkyl; Ar is aryl), e.g. 2-methylallyl diphenyl phosphate, with lithium chloride at about 5W35°C, pref. 18W28°C, usually in an aprotic solvent such as dimethylformamide. The compound of formulaI is obtained by reacting an allyl-type alcohol of formula III with a diaryl phosphorochloridata of formula IV in pyridine.
