Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve sensitivity by using a thin film, made of fine grains of a metal, an alloy, a semiconductor, and an inorganic material, as a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:Spherical fine grains 21 of an alloy which has an about 200Angstrom diameter and a 9:1 proportion of Fe to Ni are formed by evaporating an Fe- Ni ingot in 20Torr gaseous Ar and mixed with a binder 22 by 40wt%; and the mixture is kneaded by a ball mill for 200hr, and the obtained paint is applied over a substrate 23 to an about 1mum thickness. The fine grains of a metal, an alloy, a semiconductor, and an inorganic material are more active in reaction and much higher in light absorptivity than them in a bulky state, so higher recording sensitivity is obtained.
