PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium mentioned in the above titled that is capable of a high-sensitivity recording with use of a miniature laser having a long waveform, by using a recording layer obtained by dispersing the metallic impalpable powder into a binder. CONSTITUTION:The metallic impalpable powder (such as powder of Ni, Sn, Pb, etc.) of about 50nm mean grain size is mixed with a binder (such as acrylonitrile- butadiene-styrene copolymer) with a weight ratio of about 99:1-70:30. This mixture is coated on a supporter (such as glass plate, resin film, metallic plate, etc.) to form a recording layer of a thickness 0.1-10mu or so. This recording layer is used for a heat mode optical recording medium.
