Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a magnetic layer of excellent coating strength by using a compound with an unsaturated double bond, which reacts on an isocyanate group, and active hydrogen group as a binder for the magnetic layer and then by setting it by radiation irradiation.
CONSTITUTION: As a binder, a two-component compound or three-component compound obtained by making a monomer, etc., having not less than two active hydrogen not less than one unsaturated bond in one molecule (e.g. polyacrylate containing active hydrogen) react upon an isocyanate compound having not less tham two isocyanate groups in one molecule is used. This binder is mixed with proper magnetic powder, etc., to obtain magnetic coating, which is applied on the base of a film, etc., and, after dried, set being irradiated with radiant rays. This method sets the coating sufficiently even if the quantity of isocyanate is small because the double bond sensitive to radiant rays exists in the binder, and the pot life can be adjusted within desired range.
