Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent flowing of a short-circuit current in a serially connected power control element by a method wherein an output current in a power control element is detected, and based on the detected result, an input signal of another power control element is interrupted. CONSTITUTION:When transistors S1, S6 are turned into ON state simultaneously because of fault in a control circuit or the like, a transistor Q1 is turned into ON state. By an action of a resistor R10 and a diode D10, a transistor C6 is turned into cut-off state, and consequently an output transistor Q6 is also turned into cut-off state. Accordingly output transistors Q1, Q6 are never turned into ON stat simultanously, and output transistors Q1, Q2 are prevented from breakdown.
