CONSTITUTION:Normally, TRs 28, 30, and 6 are controlled in accordance with the output of a sensor circuit 25, flowing an alternating current to a load 3. If the load 3 becomes abnormal to cause an increase in current, a voltage developed across a resistance 15 increases rapidly, and a TR7 is turning on, so that the base current of a TR6 starts flowing through the collector-emitter path of the TR7. Thus, the current flowing through the TR6 is limited for constant- current operation. At this time, the output impedance of the TR6 increases, so an output voltage rises. When the voltage rises above the threshold voltage of a Zener diode 13, the TR30 turns on and the TRs 28 and 6 turn off, thus protecting the Trs from a breakdown.
