Abstract
PURPOSE: To obtain a rubber forming material, whose surface friction resistance is small and chemicals and oil resistances are excellent, by holding a fluororubber forming material in the atmosphere of fluorine gas at a specific temperature.
CONSTITUTION: A fluororubber forming material (e.g. a copolymer rubber of vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropylene) is arranged in a reacting container which has a hydrogen fluoride adsorbing agent (e.g. sodium fluoride), and after this reacting container is filled with inert-gas-diluted fluorine gas at a pressure raning from the normal pressure to 20 atmospheres, the material is treated at a temperature ranging 110W250°C. And then, this forming material is soaked in water solution of alkali carbonate metal whose concentration is ranging 5W20% (e.g. Na2CO3), and after the material is treated at a temperature 10W100°C for 5W30min to remove the fluorine gas from the surface, it is washed in water for 10W15min and dried. It is possible, by doing so, to effectively improve the surface characteristics, such as adhesiveness and friction resistance, etc., without deteriorating the inherent characteristics of fluororubber.
