Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the left-right density irregularity of a photosensitive drum by providing detection electrode, which slides on a conductor, on an inner side and an outer side, by detecting and comparing voltages from a corona generator, and by making adjustment so that detected values from both the detection electrodes are balanced. CONSTITUTION:When corona discharge is performed by a corona generator 23, the photoreceptor part 20a of a photosensitive drum 20 is charged and drum currents flow through conductor parts 22a and 22b on the photosensitive drum 20. Those drum currents are detected by detection electrodes 26a and 26b and converted by current-voltage converting circuits 27a and 27b, and a comparing circuit 28 detects a level difference between detected voltages from both the converting circuits 27a and 27b to operate a motor control circuit 29; and the position control motor 30 of the corona generator 23 moves up or down one end part 23 of the corona generator 23 to balance the level difference, and adjustment is so made that the photoreceptor part 20a of the photosensitive drum 20 is charged uniformly.
